Storage Conditions

CONDITIONS OF AGREEMENT

  1. Subject to payment of the Rent, Gold Trailers accepts temporary custody of the Vehicle for the Storage Period. 

  2. The Owner of the Vehicle parts temporarily with the Vehicle for the Storage Period and agrees to pay the agreed Storage Rental. 

  3. The Vehicle must be insured and kept insured during the Storage Period. THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING SUFFICIENT INSURANCE. GOLD TRAILERS INSURANCE POLICY DOES NOT COVER TENANT PROPERTY. Current insurance cover to be verified at inception and each subsequent renewal of storage. 

  4. The Vehicle must be secured as per the conditions of the insurance policy in respect of the stored Vehicle. 

  5. All personal effects and valuables must be removed from the Vehicle, and the windows and door to remain locked during the period on site. Any items left in the Vehicle are left at the Owners risk. The Owner is reminded that many insurance policies may not cover possessions in the vehicle. 

  6. By entering into this agreement, the Owner warrants that he/she has both ownership and legal title in the Vehicle. 

  7. All gas bottles are to be switched off when the Vehicle is on site. No other noxious, hazardous or explosive substances or preparations are allowed on site. 

  8. All Vehicles with tow bars must have a jockey wheel or jockey leg attached.

  9. The use of covers is permitted, however Gold Trailers does not take any responsibility for maintaining covers or any damage that occurs from their use. It is the Owners responsibility to make periodic inspections to ensure covers remain in place and operational.

  10. Access to your Vehicle is per the Access Hours, access at any other time by prior arrangement with Gold Trailers. 24 to 48 hours prior notice of collection time is preferred. Short or no notice is possible but may result in delays. 

  11. Please be aware that all entry and exit movements are logged and that the storage facility is covered by recorded CCTV. 

  12. We operate on a drop and go system. No reversing is required. Your Vehicle is to be left secure in the collection/delivery area or where directed.

  13. The Vehicle and the allocated area must be kept tidy and no litter left behind. 

  14. Storage spaces are not transferrable to third parties. 

  15. Approval is required to store an alternative or replacement vehicle. 

  16. Vehicles should be kept clean, mechanically sound, and in good condition. 

  17. No trading is permitted from the site, and the Vehicle must not be offered or advertised for sale while on site. 

  18. The Vehicle must not be inhabited during the Storage Period. 

  19. No major repairs to the Vehicle are to be carried out on site (minor repairs may be carried out with the permission of Gold Trailers). 

  20. The Rental is payable in accordance with the Payment Terms, Gold Trailers has the right to alter the Rental by giving notice to the Owner in accordance with clause 19. 

  21. Gold Trailers reserves the right to increase the Rental and shall give the Owner not less than one months notice of an increase following which the new value shall be the Rental. 

  22. Where the Owner terminates the contract prior to the end of the agreed Storage Period, Gold Trailers will refund any unused whole months less any discounts the Owner received for contracting to a longer term. 

  23. In the event of the Rental being overdue Gold Trailers may retain possession (lien) of the Vehicle until the arrears are settled in full or otherwise discharged. Rental charges will continue to accrue during this period. 

  24. If Rental remains unpaid for a period in excess of three months and where permitted by law, legal action may be taken to sell the Vehicle. The outstanding arrears will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale, as will any reasonable costs incurred. The remaining balance will be retained to await collection. To obtain current market value any sale will by a registered Auction House. Gold Trailers will notify the Owner of the date and place of sale. 

  25. Gold Trailers excludes all liability caused by vermin infestation. 

  26. In the performance of this agreement the Gold Trailers will at all times act with due diligence in providing a fit and proper place for the storage of the Vehicle. 

  27. Staff are not held liable for any damage to the Vehicle or its contents as a result of towing or the movement of the Vehicle. 

  28. Should Gold Trailers damage a third party’s Vehicle or property then Gold Trailers will report the matter immediately to the Owner. 

  29. Periodic checks may be made on the identity of all Vehicles stored on the site. 

  30. Gold Trailers reserves the right to refuse any Vehicle not deemed acceptable. 

  31. Gold Trailers reserves the right to ask the Owner to remove their Vehicle from the site if they do not abide by these terms and conditions. 

  32. No unauthorised access is allowed to any person other than the Owner of the Vehicle stored in the compound. Owner identification will be required. 

  33. The Owner excludes all liability for loss or damage where the means employed are in excess of the duty of due diligence. 

  34. Any changes to the details provided by the Owner in this agreement must be notified to Gold Trailers without undue delay. 

Whilst Gold Trailers does their utmost to provide security for the Vehicle stored with them, it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of theft or damage. Gold Trailers does not insure the Owners Vehicle for any reason, including but not limited to, fire, theft, malicious damage, accidental damage or hail damage.
